Just FYI Relevant Magazine

Was reading an article on the Relevant Magazine earlier today and found this:

Look, I don’t know where you are at in terms of if you believe in God or don’t or whatever, but here’s what I know.

Often we over analyze things and rob the actual fundamental important things from them.

By that I mean we get so consumed on pretty sounding concepts and images or really smart ways of saying something that will make us seem pretty cool, but ‘God is bigger than the Bible?’ Uh… hold on a minute.

John chapter one pretty explicitly says that Jesus is the Word. I understand what this person is trying to say in this article, absolutely, that God is a huge concept, and we need to understand that the bible has only 66 books so it can’t entirely describe him.

Problem is that in those simple words ‘God is bigger than the bible’ what the author is actually saying is that: ‘what we have been given through the Word – which is referenced as Jesus – isn’t enough.’

It puts doubt that what we have been left to understand probably the most important truth isn’t enough and won’t ever be enough.

It makes the bible, the most important book you will ever come across seem inadequate

As pretty as the concept is, Relevant Magazine, check your theology next time.
